There's resent speculation that the sensor is "Canon APS-H" more or less with a 1.25-1.3 crop factor. I didn't save the link. However I feel better about having not yet bought a K10D as I may simply skip a generation and go to the K20D, if the high ISO noise characteristics are reasonable, (if not I should be able to get quite a bargain on either a used or remaindered K10D).
