The reports are that Pentax designed the sensor, and that Samsung will manufacture it. Some people claim that Pentax could not possibly do this (too small, little capital) on their own. Pentax did announce back in 2004 that they were working on designing a sensor. Who knows? There is a national Pentax distributor reporting that it is a Pentax-designed sensor.
