Hi Jon

How macro is macro?

A 100mm or 50 mm macro lens is a good starting point for macro.

I use the 50 1.4 for macro, but I use it reversed - it gives much better
results. It should give you about 3.5 time magnification.

I have also bought a 12 mm "A" extension tube and modified the pins to
convince the camera that it is connected to an A lens. This lets you
use PTTL flash, but doesn't give you accurate metering (I'll tell you
what needs to be changed if you are interested and want to go down this
route. It also lets you mount the K10D (and *istD and MZ-S and Z1P)
onto the bellows without a lot of mucking around (it just doesn't fit!)

I've just bought a set of Olympus Bellows and the 38 and 20 mm bellows
lenses that give me up to about 14 times magnification. All you need to
do is change the rear mount (I'm still using the 12mm extension tube to
let the camera fit and to pretend it's an "A" lens). I haven't had too
much time to play with it yet, but I've just come back from a field trip
with some tiny marine animals to photograph, so tomorrow is the proper
testing.
