I don't understand how people can cycle with a pack on their back - that's the suicidal part. I sometimes pick up a bit of shopping on my way home from work and carry it on my back cycling from the tube, and it is really difficult to check behind to change lanes because the shift of balance nearly pulls me off the bike.
