Any lab operator you care to talk to probably has some sort of horror story relating to bent pins in CF slots. The lab I used to run averaged 4 readers per year down due to damaged pins. SD carda are a much better interface, albeit not a perfect one, as the contacts can still be damaged. You have to be a lot clumsier to do it though. I prefer the size of CF cards, but I don't miss the interface. I never saw a damaged SD card in all my years in the lab business, nor have I ever experiened a problem with my own SD cards.
