I've seen those Pinarello CF frames, and they ~are~ lovely. You should show us the whole bike! Are they the ones with the wavy forks and seatstays? Lovely cranks. After yesterday's comments about track cranks, I asked a few friends, and there is at least one company who makes 'em out of CF, but AFAIK most pros are still using aluminium. Weight isn't such a consideration for trackies: most ride bikes that are about 15 pounds, the same as a top road bike (I bet yours are close to that!) but considering that there are no gears or brakes on a track bike, there's a lot more heft there! Stiffness is by far a more important consideration than weight - efficient transimission of power and all... Thanks for the photos! They're cool (and the lens ~is~ sharp!). cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
