Hi; I just took delivery of a Data Robotics "Drobo" which I intend to use for data storage. After looking at as many options as I reasonably could, I decided that this was they route I wanted to go. The advertised ease of set-up and use was the big decider for me.
The set-up was dead simple, and the supplied software is just big button enough to make operation very easy, without being condecending. At the moment, is in the process of formatting a pair of 750gb Seagates, which will give me a total of 694.69 GB of protected storage capacity. The only problem I can see with this is that it is not a network drive (no problem for me, I only use a single computer anyway), and it is a USB connection, which is on the slow side compared to eSata (which would have been my preferred connection). I am certain that now that I have bought, an eSata version will be available shortly. Anyway, if it gives me any grief, I will certainly report it.
