Good review. Mine has a very quiet fan, the two drives burbling away like a 
coffee maker are 
noisier than the fan, but I did read a few complaints of noisy fans, and then 
rebuttals on the 
reviewers blog from other users who had quiet ones.
And the thing is SLOW. It took about 5 hours to drop 225GB of data from my 
internal RAID to the 
Drobo. It certainly isn't suitable for use as a working hard drive, but Data 
Robotics pretty 
much says that too.
