Good stuff Bill. I was seriously looking at the Drobos before I got my ReadyNAS. What turned me off it in the end was I couldn't find enough information about how it actually stored the information. Reading between the lines it sounded like some kind of proprietary RAIDlike system. What I don't like about that is, that if there is an on-board OS crash the only way to retrieve the data is by using another Drobo unit. But since my HD failure last year I'm kinda paranoid :-) Cheers, Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
