Good stuff Bill.

I was seriously looking at the Drobos before I got my ReadyNAS.

What turned me off it in the end was I couldn't find enough
information about how it actually stored the information. Reading
between the lines it sounded like some kind of proprietary RAIDlike
system. What I don't like about that is, that if there is an on-board
OS crash the only way to retrieve the data is by using another Drobo
unit.

But since my HD failure last year I'm kinda paranoid :-)
