I don't know if this common practice around the world, but here it is quite common for the relatives of a decreased person to buy a bench in their favorite place and have a small memorial to their loved one carved in to bench.... Normally they read something like... "Hilda Ogden 1910-2008, She loved this place". I spotted this one today, I just loved his style...
