As Mark mentioned, it can be done on a one off picture with layers and masks, 
and hopefully you 
don't have a lot of flash fall off to deal with or you can toos the entire idea 
out the window. 
I wouldn't want to try to do an entire wedding that way.
It's far easier to just filter the flash to close to the ambient light and use 
the white balance 
to dial in the colour for both flash and ambient.
Back before white balance, I used to do a lot of colourbacking (filter on flash 
to match the 
ambient, filter on camera to balance both). Being able to use white balance 
only removes the 
need to filter at the lens. You will still get much nicer results if you filter 
the flash.
