Personally, I'm happy with the smaller sensors. The tricky end for small sensor lens performance is the wide one, so if all your needs are down there then that's where your problems will arise. Mostly I think people are in the "I want my favorite lens to work the way it used to" mode. But I'd rather pay $1000 for a DX format camera than $2500 for a FF of the same quality. The only ways I would buy FF would be if it simply got too cheap or if the FF camera was better in quality and performance than the DX model. I currently have a K10 D, and I don't constantly worry about having more resolution. Eventually you run into the "good enough" limit for the majority of your customer base.
