Apparently with early voting, only a few poling places are open as opposed to many during the normal voting on Tuesday. Why would you anyone vote early and face hours in line? You can always get an absentee ballot if needed.
I early voted once, when I knew I was going to be out of town on business on election day.
I voted absentee once too, but that didn't go quite so well. The ballot arrived in Iraq, the day AFTER it was due back at the Board of Election in Raleigh.
And that was with all the "assistance" the Army could give me in getting the absentee ballot.
