I've got 3 Optios, the original S, the Optio 50 and the first Optio
MX.  My favorite by far is the Optio MX.  Auto, shutter or aperture
priority and the unique ability for "super macro", which means it will
focus to the front of the lens. The only disadvantage is no optical
viewfinder, however the lcd finder is movable.
