Well it seems like several years. A lot of things have happened since I bought that camera. I did order on the first day it was available from B&H. I also had a pre-order at Amazon, but B&H beat them with actual product. I sent the K10D in for service a month or two after buying the K20D so it was probably about 18 months old.

My K10D was already several years old when I sent it in. It only hiccuped on the DA* lenses. I felt the small service charge was justified.

"Several years"? It was announced in the middle of September, 2006. Not sure when it actually became available, however.

Several years struck me as rather too long, too.

I had a pre-order standing for the K10D within days of its announcement. I received it in the first week of Dec 2006, so it is just over two years old now. I'd not call that 'several years' ... ;-)
