Whoever said I wouldn't be happy with a bitsy camera , you were right...
I can't stand not having a viewfinder, and can't hold the damn thing
steady.
The lack of viewfinder is becoming more and more common. They'll be all
but extinct soon, I think. As for steadiness, you're out of luck if you
want a small camera, unless you get one with stabilization. The Optio A
series is the only Pentax P&S series that has it.
more w60 annoyances - AWB might as well not exist
This is one of Pentax's weak points. In all their cameras, I think.
noisy as hell at anything over 400
Another downside to P&S cameras. They are ALL noisy like that. It's the
main problem with small sensors.
Actually, Fuji Finepix P&S cameras with the "Super CCD" used to produce
some amazing high-ISO results back when I was selling them. They're
probably still pretty good.
doesn't hold onto the last setting when you shut off camera ...
There should have been a Memory setting that allowed you to set what the
camera would remember when turned off. But I guess it's all moot since
you returned it. Too bad.
I b ought my wife an A60 for her birthday last year. She loves the thing.
She is, however, what is referred to as the lowest common denominator in
this regard.
