I've never had a problem seeing the LCD.
Seeing the image on the LCD, on the other hand...

(actually, I've never really had a problem with either. Maybe it's
my younger eyes, or my ability to shade the screen with my free hand?)
Super long billed baseball cap, curled bill, and Costco 4.00 reading
glasses do it for me!
I got tired of carrying the old 6x7 chimney hood around. It was bigger
than the damn camera!
Started out with rolled up copies of Outdoor Photographer, but no one
was impressed...
