1. So, my question is - what are the good places to buy those types
of paper (price- and  otherwise)?
I saw Godfrey mentioning atlex.com for the inks. Is it as good for
papers? Any other places?
=============
I used to get my paper at Comp USA. Now they've closed there local store,
guess I'll have to get it online. In a pinch, sometimes Home Depot has some.

And a few more practical questions:
2. If I were to buy the size larger then the intended print, -
Is it better to cut it before or after printing?
=============
After. I tend to print my pictures on paper larger than the size I need.
Like 5X7 on 8.5X11. Etc.

2a. Do Epson printers work ok if you send the same piece of paper
through it more than once? (e.g. if some empty space was left, -
and you want to print on it)
I've seen some combination of laser printers+paper where such thing
would cause a jam because the paper would become different (drier?)
after the first run through the printer.
=============
I haven't done that enough to say. My 1800, however, when printing color
adds a clear gloss (it's one of the inks cartridges.) So I suspect it's not a
great idea if it's been glossed.
If I am doing a collage I lay it out before hand as a collage (I use
PaintShop Pro to do this, simply because I am familiar with it).

3. Does the rating Epson makes (3*, 4*, 5*) for their various types of
paper reasonably reflect the quality of the paper?
=============
I just choose the profile that matches the paper I am using. I always use
Epson.

4. This is probably a stupid question, but I am somewhat confused.
What is the "luster" type of paper surface? I've seen it many times on the
price-lists, but have never tried it, and have a rather vague idea (and
I am not sure if it is correct) - how it looks.
============
I've found I tend to like something either more glossy (like Premium Glossy)
or more mat-like (like Velvet Fine). Luster to me looks like it's neither
one or the other.

5. What type of finish is "satin" (in "Ilford Photo Satin" and "Epson
Premium Canvas - Satin"  papers)?
=============
Haven't used them. I've settled on about three papers I like. For now.

6. Has anybody had any experience (positive or negative) with
Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Paper - Matte ?
=============
That's more for doing brochures, so it's more lightweight or something.

7. Would you recommend any photo paper suitable for printing with R2880
on both sides? What I have in mind is making some personalized greating
cards.
===============
Hmmm. I use my old HP color laserjet for that. I use the 1800 just for
photos. But, I think probably any Epson card paper would do. Your quality will
go
down which ever you use, in my opinion. Someone may know different.

Thanks in  advance,

Igor

Probably not much help.

Marnie :-) Resending this, list rejected first as too long (that's never
happened  before).
