Hmmm... I've just been informed that the 60-250 is delayed (again!) to second half 2009.

They probably think that if they hold off on it long enough they can jack the price to an even more unreasonable level.
Note to Pentax:
The Sigma 70-200/2.8 is starting to look like a contender, and they not only want less for it, they are actually making it available to Pentax users.

I have been very happy with my Sigma 70-300/4-5.6 APO. My flying bird was shot with it. If the same quality is there in the 70-200/2.8, I'd be tempted, except I have the 70-300.
