regardless, its really dumb to have two completely
different products with the same model name (when spoken
at least). Unless youre forced to call the new one the K dash M.

You JUST noticed that?

Well, K-m is just the name for the camera in Japan.  It's K2000 in the 
states and elsewhere (I think).  The m is supposed to stand for mom,
since 
moms are the primary marketing target that Pentax is going after with
the 
camera, especially in Japan.
