I've used green screen a lot in television production, but the compositing was always done in a Flame or other similar device. I don't know if it's an advantage in PhotoShop compositing, but it might be. As Cotty said, it's real worth comes into play when you have to replace the background in 600 frames.
We do our chromakey stuff (we don't do much) off the white painted cyc wall in the studio. We don't have enough depth in our background to allow for green screening.
