Shel is right on... White is color for the inside of a darkroom. What little light you get from your safelight will go that much further with white or off-white walls.
And, if possible, paint or put white linoleum or something similar on the floor. That way when you get butter fingers and can't switch on the light whatever you dropped will show up on a white floor under the dim safelight. Will be building my new darkroom next month!! Whoooppee!
