A couple of years ago a few friends and I set up a darkroom, in one of the guy's house (in a small studio separated from his house) My task was to paint the darkroom black, starting from the off-white walls of the corner of the studio plus the couple of walls we built (same way as you're planning, Collin). Even with a strong work light, it was amazing how the place became darker and darker as I painted. I mean, I was expecting it to become darker of course, but the change introduced by the lack of light bouncing off the walls was amazing. I agree with Shel, it can be really hard to see, and you might end up needing more than one safelight. While working in that darkroom, I had to keep turning the light on as soon as my prints were fixed in order to look for the next negative comfortably. j -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juan J.
