Will,
most likely you will have that chance quite soon. If there's good weather tomorrow, I'll take those lenses and go shooting. Head to head, aperture to aperture.

The reason for that normally is because at f/4 the lens is stopped down a bit. The 14 is stopped down one stop at f/4, whereas the 15 is being shot wide open.
This could be a real equalizer actually.
I'd like to see the two lenses compared aperture for aperture (obviously excepting f/2.8).
