DA*55 is not very FAST, but it's really SILENT. If you say, your lens
makes some noise, there's most probably some mechanical fault or
obstacle, that may also impact the focusing speed.

I suppose it's possible I got a bad lens, though one would hope that
for what they are charging for these things they will be a little
slice of perfection in every box.
I haven't heard of anyone with this lens say it is fast focusing though.
