This is quite correct. Not having an electronic DOF preview is annoying, particularly if you're setting aperture on the body. A strange inconsistency, maybe due to the time of release, this is one of those things that I'm sure was improved on with the PZ-1pn (which Paal has mentioned was developed but of course never released).
