Walt It does. You still need AV and antimalware software to detect and deal with anything you might download (accidentally, of course...) but the router prevents malicious ingression by active forces by simply refusing to recognise them. I think the only way it can be defeated is if the person at the other end is aware of stuff like the MAC address of your machine. Very, very unlikely.
