In 84 or 85 Dad drove us from Heidelberg to Paris. He still claims the French are second only to the Italians when it comes to crazy driving technique. Once he figured out how to drive like the locals, we got around pretty easy. Dad credits that to the 70-something Mercury Marquis that was fully twice the size and weight of the typical 2CV.
