So... After reading about it for months I finally got around to trying this stuff.
This is one of the new baryta (barium sulfate) inkjet papers. It's archival, heavyweight stuff with no optical brighteners and a beautiful surface that's not quite "gloss" but smoother than lustre papers. I went big, ordering a box of 50 Super B (13" x 19") sheets. First step was making a profile for it with a spectrocolorimeter and ColorVision PrintFix Pro software. My printer is an older model (Epson Stylus Photo 2200) which doesn't seem to get as much attention as the newer models when paper makers are creating profiles (I've found Hahnemuehl's profiles for the 2200 to be useless). I let the color patch test print dry for 24 hours to be extra careful. Then a few text prints to tweak the resulting profile into perfection and I was off. Long story short: This is by far the best inkjet paper I've ever used. It seems to work well for everything, B&W and color. The prints have a stunning depth and luminosity. Just amazing. This is going to be my standard portfolio paper now. I'm running off a few prints now, so those who make it to GFM will be able to have a look in person. (And yes, Mr Stenquist, I *was* hoping to get your opinion on this stuff. Now I'll have to wait.)
