I want to thank everyone who has responded to my plight. Just to make
sure I have all the bases covered, here was the opinion:
1.) Buy the 50-135
2.) Buy the 60-250
3.) Buy both
4.) Buy something else
5.) Don't let my toddler test my cell phone
And I thought I was confused before.
In case anyone might have wondered how I discovered this hole in my
arsenal, I had a gig last weekend shooting the local 4th of July thing,
and I discovered when I was there, again when I was editing the images,
that the longest lens I had available was the 77mm, which meant I was,
um, *limited* in my range and could have used a bit more reach on some
of the shots.
While I enjoy all access to the stage, I choose not to accompany the
front line performers too closely for fear of being bludgeoned with a
mic stand, and would like to get some more intimate shots from the POV
of the audience, if you know what I mean.
My general feeling is that I'll get the 50-135, which will get me where
I want to be a little faster. so to speak.
