NO! I did not mis-type. The 222 Pistol Grip Ball Head also has a quick
release plate, and the Ball Head release lever is vertical, so you can
use it with either hand, and have the lever facing any way round to your
most comfortable position. The 322 has a horizontal grip and lever which
seem like it would be restricting, unless it swivels so the left hand
fingers can squeeze the trigger.
The 322 can be used horizontally (left or right handed), or vertically,
depending how you set it up (the mount for the QR plate can be attached in
various places).
However I think the load limit in vertical arrangement is lower.
There is also a (ridiculously expensive) shutter release option for it that
allows thumb release when holding the grip.
