My own observation on lack of recognition for the DA 60-250 and Miserere's comment about ambiguous interpretation of Tokina lenses made me wonder. I had a quick look around the web, and it seems a lot more common than I imagined.
So... what does it take to have software recognise a lens? Obviously they need the code and the lens name, to map one against the other. But I can't help wondering who provides the data. Does every software vendor have to figure out this mapping themselves? Is it provided by the camera/lens makers?
