That's exactly the opposite of my experience.  When reviewing shots
from the San Jose visit I noticed that on one shot the shutter speed
had been 1/5 of a second, but the picture still looked perfectly fine.
There was noticeable noise, especially in the blue channel, but that
is to be expected at ISO 800.  I was shooting with the grip attached,
so the size and weight difference wasn't particularly noticeable, but
even so I wouldn't expect a keeper at 1/5 of a second, hand-held.

I don't quite know why the camera selected 1/5; the focal length is
55mm, and I thought this was a shot taken with the DA* 55/f1.4, so if
that was the case there was no need to stop the lens down to f4.5.
(It might have been taken with the 18-55 WR, of course, but even that
lens can go to f3.5)  But that's not relevant here.
Were you using the MTF program line?
