I've got Elements 5, Photoshop 2, and LR 2.

My church is doing a web site and some of the photos they are using are simply too small. I volunteered to upscale them (trouble is, the example I showed, I didn't play with the sharpness enough before showing and they are somewhat dubious.)

Basically they seem to be about 200-230 pixels and just upping them to 300 pixels makes them much more viewable.

About 10 of them.

Now, is there some editing software or plug-in that will resize better than the above do by default? (One with a demo maybe, I really don't want to buy anything just for this one thing.)

I figured on just resizing in Elements and then using UnSharpen Mask.

Any input for settings for unsharpen mask, or what you would do instead, software, or whatever, is appreciated.

I figure, regardless of what I do, some sharpness will be lost. On the other hand, some of the pictures aren't all that sharp to begin with.

Thanks, Marnie aka Doe

Someone gave me an upscaling "Action" for Photoshop 7 that worked by resizing +3% using bi-cubic sharper, then resizing another +3% using bi-cubic smoother.

It began by prompting you to input a number for how many repetitions you wanted it to do.

It would take about 7 repetitions to increase size to 150%, and 12 repetitions to double the size.

It seemed to give quite good results.
