Boy, John that makes a lot of sense... - goes along with my father's being the District sales mgr for _Dictaphone_..
and actually used a dictaphone in his car.
(you saw the rest of the gallery earlier, right?) not to mention when we got a new car it was Studabaker... the irony of the name "Dictator" at that particular point in history is kinda creepy, actually.

Looks like a late 30s Studebaker coupe ... based on what I can see of the grill & headlights; the hood ornament and the grill trim extending down the side of the hood; the tail light with the license plate mounted above it.
