While the supply of F50/1.4 may be less than FA50/1.4 I dont think there would be much of a premium for it if it was just ONLY different styling than the FA lens regardless of lower production if thats the case. Now if it's optically correctly built more consistantly AND rarer, now thats another story.

I would add it's a matter of supply. The F series lenses had a short production life. The original autofocus SF1 or SFX were not popular. Pentax was a bit behind the marketplace here (slow AF & noisey). The next generation PZ-1 camera series saw the introduction of the FA series lenses and lasted a lot longer. So I expect the number of F50/1.4 lens produced is much lower than the FA50/1.4 production. I am lucky to have an F50/1.7. I would love to find an F50/1.4 but haven't seen one for sale in years.
