True, but email programs that render HTML and, especially, those that run JavaScript, are *vastly* more vulnerable than those that just show plain text. With a text-only email client "real life" security is much better because the default installation (what most people end up with in the real world) is safer: You have to deliberately save and run an attachment to get hit. I once did a demonstration for a friend at work in which I sent him an email that crashed his PC when he opened it; no file attachments necessary - just HTML and JavaScript and *any* HTML/JavaScript email client would do it.
