No, I don't agree, just like you, too many people assume that their music is "fine" and they THINK they are enjoying it to the max, but they are simply mistaken, that it CAN sound better and they COULD enjoy it even more. I speak on absolute terms on some things because sometimes they are absolute. The very best analog records ARE better sounding/more realistic sounding/higher fidelity than the very best CDs or MP3s. That's not just an opinion of mine, it's a consensus of most audio experts so I don't present it as an opinion, its closer to a matter of fact.

JCO... talking to you. Damn... you have a tendency to express yourself in very strong absolute terms which are misread my many. Understanding that, I totally agree with what you trying to express regarding the way analog music played on analog gear sounds. I was totally blown away by what I heard on a 25 year old 40W/channel eBay amp ($31), a 25 year old set of speakers ($100), and a refurbished TT + cartridge ($425... I bet it can be had for far less, if careful, but I was insistent on a pristine example). We probably need to stop arguing the point and accept that everyone enjoys music on whatever media and format they hear it. :) Tom On Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 7:29 PM, paul stenquist <[email protected]> wrote: > JCO: > You're right of course.
