With all the rumblings about the new D-FA 100 WR not being a lens anyone
wanted, I've been wondering:
What is your dream lens that does not yet exist in the current Pentax
lineup?
Rules for this question:
- Realistic lenses only. No 5000mm 2.8 Macro WR Super-SR SDM APO
Aspherical ED Extra-Crispy Tilt-Shift Low-Calorie Triple-SMC lens with
24 aperture blades, a cherry on top and a pack animal to carry it
around.
- Describe just one dream lens. No "I can't decide between an 8mm f/68
pinhole and a 76.4mm f/1.2 macro." One lens only.
- Explain why Pentax really ought to make this lens.
Given that it is a *Dream lens*, there's no reason it has to be
something I could actually afford. And there actually is more than one.
It's not an "I can't decide between", it's an "I want them both".
FA-600 F/4
FA-400 F/2.8
Plus 1.4x and 2x FA converters to fit each/both.
Not DA for APS-C, I want to use them with my FILM cameras too. APO, ED &
SDM would be nice; with an aperture ring.
I'd like them to be able to auto-focus with my PZ-1P, and meter properly
on my LX [won't use the A.S. words]. I don't care how they do it, but I
should be able to focus manually without worrying about burning up a
motor in the lens or in the camera body.
Long, Fast - good for wildlife, especially birds.
And since I'm dreaming anyway, I want a pro-level, full-frame body. 20MP
is a nice round number.
