i was a visi customer for the four years i lived in Minneapolis (95-99), they were good then too
in Denver i use a similarly responsive local ISP, ForeThought.net, both at work and at home; i recommend them highly for those within their service area, particularly those in the area where they have fiber to the central office (and thus fast, Qwest-free DSL to the office/home)
most people may not realize it, but in most urban areas of the US, there _are_ many ISP choices, some of them quite good
