Sony has publicly stated that their current aim is to become the #2
player in the DSLR market. Their success has been mixed due to having
excellent upper-end models crippled by atrocious lower-end models
(seriously, their best selling DSLR's in the Japanese market are the
A300 and A350, despite having been replaced by the A330 and A380
respectively last spring. Users overwhelmingly preferred the older
designs).
