I am with Cotty here. Even modest?! 5 fps of my K-7 frighten me every time I set it to this mode and press the button.
Higher frame rates are great for shooting something like baseball, where you might need a burst to catch the decisive moment ... some kid sliding into home, barely beating the ball to score the winning run.
Where Pentax has frustrated me in that department isn't frame rate, but buffer size. The frame rate's great until the buffer fills up.
Auto-focus speed doesn't really come into play, because I'm going to be pre-focused on home plate anyway.
