Hmm. I've had pretty much the opposite experience. I had Sony SL2700 Beta VCRs (in fact I've still got a couple somewhere) that outlasted the later, cheaper ones. I've still got a 25-year-old audio amp hooked up to a linear motion record deck for playing my 12" vinyl, and my SA-T60 DirecTiVo worked flawlessly until I left DirecTV. With the exception of my current TiVos, just about every piece of A/V gear in the house is Sony; four TVs of various ages, two A/V receivers, speakers, etc. Even my Blu-Ray player (a PS3). There is one piece of Philips gear - the region-free DVD player. Sony units are hard to unlock, and I've got quite a few British DVDs. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
