Sorry John I find this odd and not at all in my experience.

May I suggest you're hanging out with people that perhaps would find
time better spent in a meat grinder?

CNPA is one of the photography groups I belong to. I can tolerate some
people's Apple snobbery in return for the inspiration & support I get
overall.
