By all accounts the K-x, (and I have no direct experience here), has a rather loud shutter, at least compared to the K20D and especially the new K-7. I'll bet that the noise is contributing to the percipient mirror slap problem with certain individuals diligently looking for the problem, which when found leads to an ah-ha!

That's interesting. So you're saying there is a sufficiently high
speed that SR doesn't kick in but mirror slap does have an effect?

Is the lower shutter speeds what people are complaining about, or is
this
"slap" at various speeds and SR on and or off.
I have not looked into
this yet.

I think that the problem shows at speeds around 1/100 sec, not at
lower ones, and with the SR on.
