Corvette hasn't had "vettemark" performance in the 1980s since the 1970s. Not a Corvette made since 1967 that's worth pissin' on.

I think that you'll find that todays Vette's handily out accelerate the ones of yore.

How much time have you spent on the track in Corvettes of various vintages? I got to drive a student's C5 at Sears Point a while back, and they are frighteningly competent cars. I've also ridden around the track in several vettes that were driven by students, which can be an entirely different flavor of exciting.
