I'm running OS 10.5.8 on an iMac. Every time that I try to print

i'd try deleting the font caches; the Apple caches can be deleted by
restarting with the shift key held down ("safe boot") then restarting
again without the shift key held down

This has happened over several versions of adobe reader, and several power cycles of the machine. Are the cache's stored on disk?

there are Adobe caches too, and it might save time to just try deleting
them first; here's a quick reference to how to delete them; if you're
not comfortable with the shell,

bash is my preferred environment. I'm American, not Chinese, I prefer to communicate with words rather than pictures.

you can manually delete the same files
via the Finder; note that the instruction to restart your computer after
deleting Adobe cache files is not correct -- just make sure no Adobe
software is running while you do it

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.
