(yes, I'm aware the obvious answer is a giant battery pack) Hi.. Last night a used lens I bought from Adorama arrived at my door, and I'm a little confused by it.
Its a 35-70mm f2.8 zoom. What baffled me about it, though, was the giant battery pack looking lump hanging off the bottom of it. My question is, does this just use normal AAA batteries, and will it work correctly with my ZX5n, or is this some sort of specialist lens that will only work in AF mode with some other model of body? Also, its the first lens I've ever used that you pull and push it to determine the focal length. Do the weird little buttons on the barrel have any effect on this, or are they just there to hold the thing together?
