And this was my error. I even checked on the K mount site to ensure that it really was what they said. The thing that seemed weird to me was that it was a constant f2.8, but only $50. :) I checked, and saw that it was in fact everythign advertised. I didn't pick up that it was listed as an "AF" and not an "FA" lens. Ooops. > Well, yes and no. It will work on a ZX-5N about the same as any > other pre-A manual focus lens will. And, although a quick glance at its -sigh- Oh well, I guess I'll keep waiting for the day I find the FA* 28-70 or whatever it is for cheap to get everything I want in one unit. :) > > or is this some sort of specialist lens that will only work in AF > > mode with some other model of body? > Now you've got it - just the with the MEF. It feels like a manual focus lens, not an AF, and that's fine by me. I prefer that anyway, its just the ease of being able to drop something into AF for quick and easy that I won't have. So, like I said above, its still not the all-in-one wonder I wanted. > ring. I'm a little saddened that it doesn't even seem to rate that highly, because I have no problems with a manual focus lens. I prefer the feel of mf anyways, and I only desired AF for when I want to just play point-and-shoot, and was hoping this could be the primary lens and all around knockabout. Outside of being ugly and heavy, though, I'm still pretty happy with it, at least on paper. I'll hold onto it, I figure. -- http://www.infotainment.org "The destructive character is cheerful." - Walter Benjamin - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
