If a ring flash is a must, I'd go for the 140, I think. For the
reasons Bob Walkden give.

However, there's a lot of nice things that can be done with ordinary
flashes too. Take a look at Mark Cassino's site;

he's using a Z-1p with a A*200/4 macro and a AF500-FTZ.

Personally, I prefer the AF400-T. I use a Z-1 and a FA100/2.8 macro.
With the 100mm, the AF500-FTZ is too strong for my taste at 1:1, even
at f/32.

IMO, the 400-T is just right. Another advantage is that it comes with
a bracket, so you don't have to do anything special to fit it to
macro. Just tilt the rod forwards, and you're there. Besides, the
400-T can be used with TTL on all Pentax TTL-capable cameras. Even
645/645n. The only downside is that the 400-T is quite heavy.
